This creamy chicken Boursin orzo bake is a one-pot dish that comes together fast for those busy nights. With minimal prep, and about 40 minutes of hands-off time in the oven, dinner will be ready in just about an hour.
Ingredient :
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup uncooked orzo pasta
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup Boursin cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Dried herbs (such as thyme or Italian seasoning) for garnish
Directions :
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish with olive oil.
2. In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-6 minutes.
3. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pan with the chicken. Cook until the onions are translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
4. Pour in the uncooked orzo pasta and chicken broth. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
5. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the mixture cook for about 8-10 minutes, until the orzo is cooked through and the liquid has been absorbed.
6. Stir in the heavy cream and Boursin cheese, and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese has melted and the sauce is creamy.
7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
8. Pour the creamy chicken and orzo mixture into the prepared baking dish.
9. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top of the dish.
10. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
11. Let the dish cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with dried herbs for additional flavor and a pop of color.
